Infrastructure Projects

Infrastructure and site work is the foundation every other project depends on: the grading, drainage, paving and concrete that let a property function. We take on site and infrastructure work for property owners, developers, businesses and institutions in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, working to engineered plans and the requirements of the local municipality.

Site and infrastructure work we handle

  • Excavation and grading: preparing sites for buildings, lots and roads, and correcting grades so water drains properly.
  • Access roads and paving: private roads, driveways for multi-unit properties, parking areas and paths.
  • Concrete work: curbs, sidewalks, ramps, equipment pads and retaining structures.
  • Stormwater and drainage: catch basins, drainage pipe, swales and connections to existing systems.
  • Site restoration: rebuilding pavement, curbs and walkways after utility or construction work.

Working to plans and permits

Infrastructure work is usually designed by a civil engineer and reviewed by the municipality, and may involve street-opening permits, soil erosion and sediment control plans, or county and state approvals. We build to the approved drawings and specifications, coordinate inspections, and keep the documentation the owner and engineer need.

Safety and traffic control

Site work often happens next to active roads, sidewalks or occupied buildings. We plan for safe access, traffic control and protection of pedestrians before the project starts, and keep the site secure and orderly throughout the work.

Drainage done properly

Poor drainage is the root cause of many failed pavements, flooded basements and eroded slopes. We pay close attention to slopes, inlet locations and pipe sizes shown on the plans, and raise any field conditions that do not match the design before they become a problem.

Our process

1. Plan review. We review the drawings, specifications and site conditions and identify questions early.

2. Proposal and schedule. A clear proposal with quantities, sequencing and a realistic timeline.

3. Mobilisation and permits. Permits, utility mark-outs and site setup, including erosion control where required.

4. Construction and inspections. Excavation, drainage, base, concrete and paving, inspected at the required stages.

5. Closeout. Final inspection, restoration and handover.

What affects the cost

  • Quantities of excavation, stone, asphalt and concrete
  • Soil and groundwater conditions
  • Drainage structures and pipe runs
  • Traffic control, work hours and site access
  • Permit and inspection requirements
